Urethral stricture is a common disease that significantly affects the quality of life of patients. In times of innovative technology, when humanity seeks for minimally invasive and surgical interventions through the natural urinary tract, the fact of iatrogenic trauma to the urethra becomes relevant. Due to the high frequency of transurethral interventions and catheterizations, iatrogenic injury to the urethra has become a leading etiological factor in the development of urethral stricture in men in developed countries and second to trauma in developing. According to various authors, the iatrogenic etiology of the urethral stricture is the most common, reaching up to 45% of all causes of the urethral stricture. «Iatrogenic urethral strictures» is a group of clinical situations that dictate differentiation in the choice of the optimal treatment method, taking into account the predicted effectiveness, improved quality of life and long-term results, for each group of patients with iatrogenic urethra. The development of personal patient management, prevention of recurrent, is a task for the successful treatment of iatrogenic urethral stricture. The etiological factor of urethral stricture, along with the localization, extent and degree of spongiofibrosis, is an indispensable factor when choosing a method of treatment.
