Introduction. Combination drug therapy is widely used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia and associated symptoms of lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTS/BPH). The most commonly used combination is alpha-1-adrenergic blockers (α1-AB) and testosterone-5-alpha reductase inhibitors (5αRI): finasteride or dutasteride. This publication is devoted to the new domestic combination drug «Predstanormix Duo» (JSC «Pharmasyntez», Russia) for the treatment of LUTS/BPH, containing fixed doses of dutasteride (0.5 mg) and tamsulosin (0.4 mg) in modifiedrelease capsules.

Introduction. The inflammatory process in the accessory male sex glands is considered as one of the factors of reducing male fertility, however, the pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of generative dysfunction in this pathology remain poorly understood.

Materials and methods. The search, analysis and synthesis of relevant publications in PubMed databases was carried out, eLibrary.ru, cyberleninka.ru by keywords. As a result, 38 publications were selected, which are included in this review.

Introduction. Testicular microlithiasis (TM) is one of the most controversial and controversial problems of urology in both adulthood and childhood. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a polyetiological, age-associated chronic disease characterized by an increase in the volume of the prostate due to the growth of periurethral tissue, leading to mechanical obstruction of the lower urinary tract and deterioration in the quality of urination. One of the most common concomitant surgical diseases of BPH is inguinal hernia (IH).

Introduction. Chronic prostatitis is a widespread disease in men of different age groups. Chronic prostatitis remains one of the most difficult problems in modern urological practice, which also has enormous social significance for a number of reasons: a negative impact on the quality of life of patients, a frequent association with male infertility, high treatment costs and low effectiveness.

Introduction. Comorbidities increase the risk of postoperative complications in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical profile of patients with BPH requiring surgery.

Introduction. Some patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) do not respond to treatment or the disease progresses during conservative treatment. It seems relevant to identify significant predictors of BPH progression and transition from conservative to surgical treatment.

Introduction. Currently, there is a point of view that lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and age-related testosterone deficiency (hypogonadism) in men should be considered as pathogenetically interrelated, age-associated chronic diseases characterized by a progressive course. These conditions can significantly reduce the quality and duration of life in men in the absence of adequate drug correction.

Introduction. All epidemiological studies show that with aging in men, testosterone secretion gradually decreases, while the incidence of LUTS (Lower Urinary Tract Syndrom) increases with age, which also confirms the important role of age-related testosterone deficiency in the pathogenesis of LUTS in men. However, there are clearly not enough works in the modern scientific literature on the relationship between testosterone deficiency and LUTS in men, which was the reason for conducting this study.

Introduction. Circadian rhythms determine the functioning of all organ systems, including endocrine organs, and the synthesis of many hormones follow the biological clock. Melatonin is a hormone of the epiphysis and it plays a key role in the creating of circadian rhythms, and testosterone, the main sex hormone in men, is involved in many metabolic processes in the male body, including the functioning of the reproductive system. The link between infertility and circadian rhythm disturbances caused by external factors has been increasingly reported.
