The information content of biological material for the study of the urogenital tract in men by real-time PCR (pilot trail)

26103

Purpose. In chronic forms of inflammation, the most frequent etiological agents in the occurrence of chronic prostatitis (CP) are conditionally pathogenicmicroorganisms (CPM), the detection of which by traditional diagnostic methodsis difficult due to the objective limitations of the methods. Real-time (RT-PCR) allows quick and reliable identification of CPM responsible for the occurrence of CP and other chronic inflammatory diseases of urogenital tract.

Experience of low-intensity shock wave therapy in ambulatory urological practice in patients with chronic prostatitis

8328

Purpose.Chronic prostatitis(CP)is one of the most debatable problemsin urology, due to the lack of common approaches to the interpretation of the pathogenesis of this disease, the objectification of patient testing and the complexity of therapy. For the treatment of CP proposed a wide range of physiotherapy treatments. One of the methods of physiotherapeutic effects that improve blood circulation in the pelvic organs and thereby increase the bioavailability of drugs is low-intensity shock-wave therapy (LI-ESWT).

Experience of using antioxidants to improve semen parameters in males with idiopathic infertility

25697

Introduction. Problem of male infertility is undoubtedly relevant, and methods of its diagnostics and treatment are not studied in their entirety. Today it is supposed that 80% of idiopathic male infertility cases are due to oxidative stress. It is caused by an imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidant properties of semen.

Aim of the study – to demonstrate the feasibility of using biologically active supplement «BESTFertil» in treatment of patients with idiopathic decline of semen quality.

Application of shock wave therapy in combined treatment of erectile dysfunction

8543

Introduction. According to data acquired in studies worldwide, erectile dysfunction (ED) incidence is about 16% to 52% among males aged 20-70 years. Vasculogenic ED is found in about 70% of all ED cases with 30% being arteriogenic, 20-40% being venogenic and 30% being combined arteriogenic-venogenic ED. Shock wave therapy (SWT) is a new and promising modality of treatment for patients with erectile dysfunction. Lack of consensus regarding SWT efficacy in various types of ED and duration of its effect necessitates further studies.

Influence of varicocele on the hormonal background and the reproductive system of men

61773

Pathogenesis of the lower urinary tract symptoms in men with hypogonadism and metabolic syndrome

5917

The review article includes a modern view on the relationship between age-related hypogonadism, metabolic syndrome, and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in males. As a rule, LUTS in older men are considered as a manifestation of benign prostatic hyperplasia. A correlation between prostate volume and components of MS was identified, however, LUTS is considered as a polyetiological problem. According to meta-analyzes, a decrease in testosterone levels, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance are considered as a cause of impaired urination quality in older men.
