The article presents a program of prevention of thromboembolic complications with the use of compression hosiery, which was held in the Federal State Institution "Research Institute of Urology" in 2010 to 2011. The programme aim was improving patient outcomes by reducing the thrombotic complications by using the integrated prevention of compression hosiery. The data of 1872 patients were analyzed to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of compression hosiery. The patients were divided into 2 groups.

The stone disease is one of most widespread urology disease in the world and Russia. The recurrence rate is high despite the new noninvasive methods of diagnosis and treatment. Phytotherapy, containing essential oils and terpens, is widely used in patients with stone disease. Rowatinex is based on the terpens combination.

The research was done in State Research Institute of Urology during 2,5 months named: “ Results of the Rowatinex usage in patients with renal stone disease”.

The article reports results of sensitivity analysis to a new antibiotic tigecycline (group of glycyl-cyclines) of 1210 strains of the most common causative agents of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system. Biomaterial was taken from patients suffering from recurrent infectious and inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system: secondary chronic pyelonephritis with a background of urolithiasis, neurogenic bladder dysfunction, abnormalities of the urogenital tract (965 pers. – 79.6%), chronic prostatitis (154 pers.

Article is dedicated to analysis of results of open multicentre research of using doxazosin in combination with Indigal in patients with BPH. Research is held in 8 clinical centre, with 100 patients participating. The subjects for study were efficiency and safety of oral taking of doxazosin in combination with Indigal during a period of six months, long-term follow up was 6 months. Patients took two capsules of Indigal twice a day and doxazosin 2–8 mg, starting with 2 mg with following dose titration. Four visits to doctor were planned.

One of the common urological diseases is urolithiasis. Various groups of drugs are used for concrements delivery. Herbal medicine (essential oils and / or terpenes) has long been used in the treatment of urolithiasis. One of the drugs, which is based on a special combination of terpenes, is Rowatinex having a triple action: lithollitic, spasmolytic and diuretic. The first clinical and preclinical trials with Rowatinex occurred between 1954-1956 yrs. Since that time is has been actively used in the treatment of urolithiasis in many countries around the world.

Chemical compound of 4217 calculi was analyzed. All calculi were removed surgically, fragmented by extracorporal shock-wave lithotripsy or came out by themselves in patients with urolithiasis managed in Scientific Research Institute of Urology, Russian Healthcare Department in a period of 2005 2009 (males and females age ranged 16 77). The comparative analysis of foregoing decade (1990-2000) data on calculi chemical compound was made. It was shown that oxalate lithiasis remains predominant mineralogical type in Moscow region in a period of 2005-2009.

97 patients with voiding disturbances underwent treatment, 27 had a hyporactive bladder(15 male, 12 female) and 70 male with infravesical obstruction. Infravesical obstruction in 36 patients was caused by chronic prostatitis, in 34 by BPH. All patients were subscripted for prostate peptides (uroprost) in suppositorium once a day for 20 days. 66.6% of patients with detrusor hypoactivity considered treatment results as high or moderate. Qmax improvement for 29.4% meanly was mentioned.

Overactive bladder (OAB) prevalence is a quite high and is 16-22% among adults. In addition, significance of OAB is explained not only by high prevalence but also substantial quality of life decrease in these patients. Recently a lot of attention is paid to ischemia and related microcirculation disorder in bladder wall.

The author presented results of the clinical study on efficacy and safety of alpha1-adrenoreceptor antagonist Tulosin (produced by «Egis») as a single agent therapy in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The research team included 30 patients aged 50 to 82 years. Inclusion criteria – patients with BPH, expressiveness symptoms on a scale International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) more 9 points, the volume of residual urine not more than 100 ml. Treatment was conducted within 2 months, with compulsory monitoring of patient every month.

Monitoring methods has been proposed for calcium oxalate crystal formation in model systems containing urine of patients with oxalate urolithiasis, which allow to evaluate main phases of crystal formation.
