Purpose. Evaluate the clinical results of treating patients with localized prostate cancer after low-dose-rate (LDR) brachytherapy. Determine the significance of prognostic factors affecting biochemical free survival.

Materials and methods. 290 patients with low and intermediate risks prostate cancer were given LDR brachytherapy as monotherapy. The patient recruitment period from 2010 to 2017 y. Biochemical relapse was determined according to Phoenix criteria (PSA nadir + 2 ng / ml).

Primary urethral cancer is recognized to be a rare malignant tumor which comprises less than 1% of all tumors. In 2008 there were 4292 cases in European Union with potential incidence of 655 new cases per year. A prevalent histological type of primary urethral cancer is the urothelial carcinoma (54-65%), followed by squamous cell carcinoma (16-22%) and adenocarcinoma (10- 16%).

Purpose of the study: To improve the results of treatment of patients with localized prostate cancer using the 125I brachytherapy by means of individual prediction of relapse-free survival of patients after implantation.

Materials and methods. The study included 123 patients with low and intermediate risk clinically localized prostate cancer who were implanted with 125I radioactive micro sources in the period from 2000 to 2013. The main evaluation criterion was 5-year biochemical disease free survival bDFS.

Aim: to evaluate prevalence of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) bounce after high-dose rate interstitial radiation therapy as monotherapy for prostate cancer in two different regimens, and to perform an analysis of possible causes for this phenomenon.

In this work we proposed an algorithm for “operator-independent” quantitative assessment of the bladder images under various pathological conditions obtained by the cross-polarization optical coherence tomography (CP OCT).

The aim of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis of postoperative bladder prolapse (based on postoperative cystogram) and urinary continence recovery indicants, which characterize early postoperative period. A comparison of retzius-sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RS-LRPE) and standard laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRPE) was made.

Materials and methods. The prospective study comprised 59 patients with diagnosed prostate cancer, 28 patients (47%) of which underwent RS-LRPE and 31 (53%) - standard LRPE.

The relevance of prostate cancer (PC) screening affects the interests of not only urologists, but also specialists in other fields (surgeons, therapists, general practitioners). This is related to the fact that these specialists are more-lessinvolved in the PC screening during the survey. In this regard, the emphasis on modern approaches to prostate malignant tumorsscreening isrelevant and necessary for wide range of specialists. Prostate cancer is the most common malignant neoplasm in men of middle and old age.

Urothelium is a highly specific epithelial membrane of the urinary tract that covers the renal pelvis, ureters, bladder and urethra. Malignant transformation of urothelium leads to the development of urothelial carcinoma. Urothelial cancer ranks 4th in the prevalence of malignant tumors after prostate cancer (or breast), lung and colorectal cancer. This type of tumor can occur in the lower urinary tract (bladder or urethra), and in the upper (Cup-pelvic system of the kidney or ureter). Bladder cancer is 90-95% of all cases of urothelial cancer.

Introduction. Currently,radical prostatectomy (RPE) is considered as the main method of the surgical treatment of localized forms of prostate cancer(PCa),which provides a high relapse-free survival. Urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction (ED) are the common complications of this surgery. Unfortunately, nowadays there is no unified approach to the rehabilitation of patients after RPE.

The aim of our study was to compare different methods of hemostasis in the treatment of neurovascular bundles during endovideosurgical extraperitoneal radical prostatectomy (EERPE) regarding the risk of developing erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence.

Materials and methods. The prospective study comprised 35 patients, who underwent nerve-sparing EERPE over the period of 2009-2013.
