Analysis of uronephrological morbidity and mortality in Russian Federation for 2003-2013

We have performed a comparative retrospective analysis of the urological (including the oncourological) morbidity in a period of 10 years (2003-2013) according to official medical statistics. The aim was the objective investigation of the urological service in Russia and it’s regions. Structure of the urological diseases, oncourological diseases of the bladder, prostate and kidney, and although the associated mortality were evaluated for this period.

The frequency of the chronic prostatitis in the outpatient practice

Chronic prostatitis is one of the commonest urological diseases, the prevalence of which and the quota of patients with which in municipal and private outpatient practices are underestimated.

Statistical tickets of the private medical outpatient facility «Avicenna» (Novosibirsk), of municipal policlinic 26 (Novosibirsk) and policlinic 1 of the City Hospital KMK (Novokuznetzk) were used for analysis with regard to infectioninflammatory urogenital diseases and to their structure.

Epidemiological evaluation of the urolithiasis in outpatient practicу

We have carried out the retrospective analysis of 1355 medical records of the patients with urolithiasis referred to the ambulance of National Scientific Institute of Urology in a period of 1 year. Chi-square statistical test was used for analysis of data. The most visited months of the year were April and November (spring-autumn period). The minimal and maximal age of the patients (based on the analysis of 923 patients) was 8 months and 83 years. Female patients were dominating among adult patients.

The prostate cancer (PCa) is nowadays one of the most common and progressively growing diseases in the area of oncourology. The yearly growth of the PCa incidence is 3%. The screening introduction was not effective, leading to the new problems with overdiagnosis, overtreatment and corresponding financial burden and growth in number of complications. As a result of this a new complex staged standardized program was developed in the National Scientific Institute of Urology for the treatment of patients with prostate cancer, which was introduced in Voronezh district in 2010.

Expert analysis of pediatric uroandrological care organizationon the example of Stavropol city

This article contains the results of the sociologic investigation of expert opinions from 61 specialists. Among them 18% (n=11) were pediatric urologists-andrologists, 27.9% (n=17) – pediatric surgeons and 54.1% (n=33) – urologists. The aim of study was the expert investigation of the organization of pediatric uroandrological care in Stavropols city.

The limited resources of health care system, combined with an aging population and an increase of proportion of diseases of involutional origin leads to the need to optimize the algorithms of diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. BPH is a gender-associated, socially significant disease, as it accounts for over 40% of all diseases of men older than 50 years, and this is the reason of the significant economic contributions in the cost structure of the health system.

Current study was devoted to the comparative retrospective analysis of the urological, including oncourological, morbidity during the period from 2002 to 2012 according to the official medical statistics with the aim of the objectification of the current state of the urological service in Russian Federation and in the individual regions. The frequency of the urological diseases, bladder, prostate and kidney tumors were dynamically evaluated, as well as the mortality rate from these diseases.

First results of comprehensive integrated standardized programme for BPH diagnosis and treatment

Introduction: BPH –gender, social disease, as it accounts more than 40% of all diseases of men older 50 years. Analyzing the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment of BPH in the Russian Federation at the example of the Voronezh region in 2009, it revealed that 40.9% of patients with BPH treated at the hospital were delivered by ambulance for emergency indication, underlining the shortages of prophylaxis and low detectability of diseases.
