Actuality: staghorn urolithiasis is a heavy disease, taking one of the leading places among the urogenital pathology. Selecting the least traumatic intervention in those patients is one of the complex tasks in the urological practice. 

Aim: to evaluate the role of the retrograde nephrolithotripsy for the patients with staghorn nephrolithiasis. 

The mineral composition of the 437 urinary stones was studied in 437 patients with urolithiasis aged from 16 to 75 years, which have been treated in the National Scientific Urological Institute. Body-mass index (BMI), blood biochemistry panel and biochemistry of 24-hour urine probe were evaluated in all patients. Quartile analysis of the data was done according to the BMI distribution. Lower quartile was represented by BMI values < 24.1 kg/m2 (n=99), upper quartile by BMI values > 33.1 kg/m2 (n=99).

Hypercalciuria is the main lithogenic metabolic disorders in patients with calcium urolithiasis. This metabolic sign could be seen most often with other metabolic risk factors of urolithiasis (hyperuricosuria, hyperoxaluria, hypocitraturia and hypomagniuria). Pathogenetic mechanisms of hypercalciuria development are manifold, which provide basis for different forms of hypercalciuria. 

Urolithiasis takes one of the first plac¬es in the structure of urological diseas¬es. Kidney and urinary tract stones are detected in 30-45% of patients admit¬ted to urological hospitals.

Goal. The aim of the study was to determine the efficacy and safety of electro-lithotripsy (EILT) apparatus “Urolit-105M” in patients with different localization of urinary stones.

The purpose of the study – a synthesis and analysis of experience with transurethral endoscopic techniques in patients with large renal stones and staghorn nephrolithiasis.

Using of magnesium medications in anti-relapse treatment of calcium urolithiasis is still in the center of urologists’ debates.

Recurrent calcium urolithiasis is often characterised by hyper excretion of magnesium in urine, which however is not a protective feature referring to calculi relapse, as far as in these patients have more severe recurrence clinical manifestation.

One of the common urological diseases is urolithiasis. Various groups of drugs are used for concrements delivery. Herbal medicine (essential oils and / or terpenes) has long been used in the treatment of urolithiasis. One of the drugs, which is based on a special combination of terpenes, is Rowatinex having a triple action: lithollitic, spasmolytic and diuretic. The first clinical and preclinical trials with Rowatinex occurred between 1954-1956 yrs. Since that time is has been actively used in the treatment of urolithiasis in many countries around the world.

Article is dedicated to outpatient management of adults and children with urolithiasis. We have developed standards of equipment and recomendations of outpatient clinics managing urolithiasis based on our own long-term clinical experience analysis and international publications. Suggested protocol corresponds to basic aspects of diagnostic and treatment of patients with utolithiasis in outpatient conditions. Diagnostic and therapy procedures are divided into obligate and additional, used in children, young patients and in complicated patients.
