Introduction. Currently, percutaneous nephrolithotripsy is the main treatment for large and coral-like kidney stones in children.

The purpose of the study was to increase the effectiveness of percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PCNL) in children using miniature-sized instruments.

Introduction. Currently, percutaneous renal surgery is a common surgical procedure in urologic practice for the treatment of large and staghorn renal stones. Placement of a nephrostomy tube has been well recognized as a standard procedure to provide hemostasis, adequate drainage, and access for additional endoscopic procedures. At the same time, the use of a nephrostomy tube has negative consequences such as discomfort/pain symptom, longer hospital stay and possible urine extravasation. In view of the above, draining of the access tract raises questions in some cases.

Background. The efficacy of percutaneous nephrolithotripsy is currently assessed using computed tomography, whose wide implementation in clinical practice is limited by economic reasons and the risk of high radiation doses during the disease monitoring period. Aim. To demonstrate the high predictive precision of nomograms, which are valuable for assessing the expected efficacy of interventions.

Severe deformation of the vertebral column combined with the abnormalities of upper urinary tracts development leads to alterations of the topographical anatomy of the kidney. This condition accounts for additional difficulties in surgical access and creates prerequisites for a more thorough selection of the tactics of operative treatment. Today, percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PNL) is regarded as the gold standard in treatment of kidney stone disease.

Depending on stone type, the risk of a recurrence makes 50-80%, when performing postoperative prevention this risk decreases to 10-15%. Frequent development of a relapses of infectious kidney stones after PCNL, uropathogens revealed a difference in the urine and kidney stones need to find new modes of antimicrobial prophylaxis of recurrences of infectious genesis stones.

The aim of the study is to reduce number of a recurrence of stones of an infectious genesis after a percutaneous nephrolithotripsy.

Introduction. Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is considered as the gold standard in the treatment of patients with full staghorn kidney stones. Its effectiveness varies from 55% to 98%, which depends on many factors, and in particular, on the accessibility to the stones.

The aim of the study was to analyze out own experience of performing PCNL in patients with staghorn kidney stones (stages K3-K4).

Nowadays percutaneous nephrolitothripsy (PCNL) is a standard therapeutic modality for large and staghorn kidney stones. Given that nephrostomy drainages could be a cause for pain and substantial discomfort, tubeless PCNL is considered to be a good alternative approach. The aim of our study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of hemostatic matrix in patients with tubeless PCNL. 

Introduction. The efficacy of antegrade laser endopyelotomy (ALM) for ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction (UPJO) in pediatric patients is yet not defined. 

Introduction. Minimally invasive surgery is being widely implemented in the pediatric practices. The aim of our study was to evaluate the potential of the laparoscopic pyeloplasty in children.

The purpose of the study – a synthesis and analysis of experience with transurethral endoscopic techniques in patients with large renal stones and staghorn nephrolithiasis.
