In this article we review the problem of the disturbances of the iris diaphragmal function in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) receiving superselective alpha1-adrenoblockers (silodosin and tamsulosin).

The most informative immunological analysis to reveal neuroendocrine differentiation (NED) in prostate cancer diagnostics is evaluation of Chromogranin A (ChA) level. Rhe value of ChA in the diagnostics of prostate cancer (PCa) is studied since years. The evidence is controversial with regard to some aspects. But nevertheless most authors consider this analysis as valuable in terms of NED identification in patients with diagnosis of PCa. NED presence in these cases could be the sign of more aggressive disease.

Many clinical studies have shown, that α1А selective alpha blockers are more tolerable to patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), than non-selective ones. is is especially important consideration in patients with the risk of adverse cardio-vascular effects. One of the new α1А selective alpha blockers is silodosin. ere is enough evidence, related to the efficacy and safety of silodosin in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to BPH.

This literature review is dedicated to the problem of prostate cancer local recurrence. Prostate cancer takes one of the leading places in the structure of cancer incidence and mortality. With an aging population, the number of such patients will only increase. Modern radical treatments have a high, but not sufficient efficiency. Relapse after radical prostatectomy, is observed in 29% – 40% of patients within the next 10 years after surgery.

The studies of the last years showed, that prostate specific antigen (PSA) is not absolutely organ specific and could be detected in endometrium, in mammary gland, in breast milk, in adrenal tumors, in tumor tissue of renal cell carcinoma, in secretory epithelial cells of the trachea, thyroid gland, breast, salivary gland, jejunum and ileum, epididymis, seminal vesicles and urethra, also in Leydig cells, pancreatic cells, exocrine glands’ cells and cells of the epidermis.

Castration-refractory prostate cancer (CRPC) makes up 5-20% of all prostate cancer (PCa) cases. Basically the reason for CRPC is a regulation breakdown of the androgen receptors (AR). The altered ARs are seldom to see in the untreated cases, which stands for the role of the hormonal therapy on these AR changes. One of the perspective directions in the CRPC treatment is a combination therapy using somatostatin analogues (octreotide) and dexamethasone. Somatostatin plays an important role in the physiology of different organs, including prostate.

Introduction & Objectives: There is a great number of patients who have an indications for transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy are on chronic treatment with low-dose aspirin for different cardiovascular disease. The aim is to determine safety of prostate biopsy performance in patients receiving low-dose aspirin (75-100mg) without interruption before and after prostate biopsy procedure.

Ultrastructural studies have shown a wide morphological diversity of neuroendocrine cells (NEC), which is correlated with a large number of known secreted into the blood substances, including neuron-spesific enolase, chromogranin A (СgA), chromogranin B, bombesin, serotonin, somatostatin, thyroid-stimulating hormone like peptide, parathyroid hormone-related peptide, calcitonin. It is believed that the NEC in varying amounts are always present in prostate cancer (PC).

At present time the issue of early detection of prostate cancer (CaP) becomes more and more actual. CaP has a very high morbidity and mortality rate increase temp, which is connected with disease late detection and as a result big quantity of patients with advanced and disseminated forms of cancer.

PSA test made a revolution in regard of increase of CaP detection on early curable stages.
