Introduction. Antibacterial drugs are the basis of pharmacotherapy of lower urinary tract infections (UTI), and there is a growing interest in alternative nonantibacterial methods of their treatment and prevention.

Purpose of the study. Quantitative evaluation of the anti-adhesive and antibacterial effects of the dietary supplement «Uronext®» containing D-mannose, vitamin D3 and cranberry extract against uropathogens isolated from patients with recurrent UTI.

Introduction. Introduction Antibacterial therapy is the main line of treatment for lower urinary tract infections (LUTIs). At the same time, not always satisfactory efficacy and the growing problem of antibiotic resistance of the main uropathogens determine the importance of finding alternative approaches. Many studies have confirmed the clinical efficacy of non-antibacterial therapy for LUTIs, however, a number of aspects of its pharmacological action remain unclear.

This article is devoted to the grounds of the development of the diabetes mellitus complications with regard to the lower urinary tract, namely to diabetic cystopathy. Symptoms and clinical signs of the diabetic cystopathy are presented in the wide spectrum from the frequency disorders to urinary incontinence and urinary retention. The diversity of the diabetes related micturition disturbances is mirroring the heterogeneity of the pathogenetic factors. The main factor is considered to be the diabetic angiopathy.

97 patients with voiding disturbances underwent treatment, 27 had a hyporactive bladder(15 male, 12 female) and 70 male with infravesical obstruction. Infravesical obstruction in 36 patients was caused by chronic prostatitis, in 34 by BPH. All patients were subscripted for prostate peptides (uroprost) in suppositorium once a day for 20 days. 66.6% of patients with detrusor hypoactivity considered treatment results as high or moderate. Qmax improvement for 29.4% meanly was mentioned.

Overactive bladder (OAB) prevalence is a quite high and is 16-22% among adults. In addition, significance of OAB is explained not only by high prevalence but also substantial quality of life decrease in these patients. Recently a lot of attention is paid to ischemia and related microcirculation disorder in bladder wall.
