In a retrospective study analyzed the results of treatment of 45 patients with upper urinary tract calculi obstruction. All patients were performed ureteroscopy and holmium: YAG laser lithotripsy. Patients were divided into three groups according to the time period from the time before the ureteral obstruction to ureterolithotripsy. In the 1st group holmium: YAG laser lithotripsy performed in the first week after the onset of symptoms of obstruction. In 2nd and 3rd groups, surgical treatment performed later. Evaluated the efficacy and safety of treatment depending on the timing of its application. Long-term results of the contact laser ureterolithotripsy assessed by questionnaire. Obtained results showed the effectiveness of the contact ureterolithotripsy laser treatment of ureteral stones. The highest «stone free» level and the lowest morbidity achieved when the contact laser ureterolithotripsy during the first 7 days of illness. Analysis authoring questionnaires completed by patients during the period from 3 months to 2 years after undergone surgical treatment possible to obtain new information. It was found that the quality of life of patients relatively the status of their the urinary system after undergoing laser ureterolithotripsy significantly associated with the timing of the operation. The earliest perform laser ureterolithotripsy avoids repeated cases of upper urinary tract surgery reason ureteral stones. The incidence and severity of postoperative morbidity have an inverse relationship with the duration of the period from the onset of clinical symptoms of obstruction before the surgery.
