Aim: to study the peculiarities of the chronic cystitis complicated with pelvic pain syndrome (PPS) in women with varicose disease of the pelvic veins (VDPV).

Materials and methods. We have evaluated and treated 28 women in the age from 26 to 46 years, having chronic cystitis with prominent dysuria and PPS with the background of VDPV. The investigations included: sonography of the pelvis with dopplerometry, cystoscopy with biopsy, uroflowmetry, laser Doppler flowmetry. All patients were treated conservatively with the prolonged administration of systemic enzymotherapy medications. Also the urinary bladders of 15 women, which have died due to different reasons, with the signs of the VDPV on the autopsy, were investigated pathomorphologically. Two of these women were pregnant and died due to the thromboembolic complications.

Results. According to the results of the investigation it could be stated, that pathogenetic therapy aimed to the elimination of venous stasis is reasonable in this group of patients, including complex therapy with repetitive courses of venotropic medications, the medications, which improve microcirculation and vobensim for systemic enzymotherapy, which could ameliorate the pelvic pain syndrome and prevent the recurrence of chronic cystitis in 57,3% of women.
