The aim of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis of postoperative bladder prolapse (based on postoperative cystogram) and urinary continence recovery indicants, which characterize early postoperative period. A comparison of retzius-sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RS-LRPE) and standard laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRPE) was made.
Materials and methods. The prospective study comprised 59 patients with diagnosed prostate cancer, 28 patients (47%) of which underwent RS-LRPE and 31 (53%) - standard LRPE.
Results. It was demonstrated that the RS-LRPE administration significantly reduced the duration of hospitalization and the time of achieving full urinary continence.
