The article provides the results of a systematic analysis of the literature data related to the use of vaginal access in surgical treatment of ureterovaginal fistulae. The review includes data from articles found in PubMed, which were published in international journals over the last 10 years. Benefits and disadvantages of vaginal access are described, including limitations of the method. According to the literature data and our own experience (a clinical case), vaginal access in surgical treatment of ureterovaginal fistulae was analyzed. The necessity of implementation of a clinical classification of ureterovaginal fistulae for the development of differentiated medical tactics was also evaluated.
