Introduction. It is believed that the «target» of the hexane extract of Serenoa repens (HESR) is the prostate gland itself. However, there is evidence in the literature that the therapeutic effect of HESR can be carried out at the level of the bladder. We hypothesized about the direct effect of HESR on the obstructive bladder, preventing the development of its dysfunction.

Introduction. The review analyzes the clinical efficacy and mechanism of action of lipidsterol extracts of the American dwarf palm fruit Serenoa repens (SRE), including the drug Permixon (Pierre Fabre), used for the treatment of urination disorders in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Introduction. Сurrently, existing methods for determining the chemical composition of the stone in vivo do not have the necessary accuracy. In this regard, the development of methods for high-precision determination of the chemical nature of urinary stones using modern technologies is relevant for modern urology.

Introduction. A great attention was paid to the urological diseases epidemiology in the USSR and then in the Russian Federation at the FSBI NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, led by RAMS Academician, Professor N.A. Lopatkin. Currently, the Institute carries out a constant monitoring of urological morbidity during researches approved by the State Assignment.
