UROLITHIASIS

Introduction. The role of hyperphosphaturia in calcium phosphate stones formation, including gender-specific features of its lithogenic properties in male and female patients, is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of varying degrees of phosphaturia in stone formers men and women on metabolic parameters and the urinary stones frequency.

Introduction. The variety of etiopathogenesis of urolithiasis and the presence of various concomitant pathologies in patients with urinary tract stones requires an individual approach to their treatment.

Materials and methods. A retrospective analysis of the treatment results was performed in 208 patients, 124 (59,6%) men and 84 (40,4%) women, aged 19 to 84 years (average age – 53,5±14,6 years), who were operated for nephrolithiasis. Demographic data, comorbid background of patients, therapeutic tactics and treatment results are analyzed.

Introduction. Urolithiasis is a multifactorial disease affecting all population groups. The incidence of urolithiasis in different countries varies from 1,7 to 14,8%. The risk of developing urolithiasis depends on age, gender, race, geographic location and hereditary predisposition, while 40-50% of patients have a burdened family history, so the search for genetic markers associated with urolithiasis is relevant.

Introduction. Urolithiasis is a disease whose etiology and pathogenesis have not been fully elucidated. However, studies of recent decades indicate the presence of an organic matrix in the composition of all urinary stone.

Materials and methods. A white substance of the consistency of «soft plasticine» was extracted from the pelvis of the right kidney. The sample was examined for elementary composition, molecular weight characteristics and structure.

Introduction. In the structure of urolithiasis, the predominant number of patients have stones consisting of calcium oxalate. These stones have a dense structure that is not amenable to litholysis and grows quickly. At the moment, there are no medications that can non-invasively relieve patients of this type of stones. In this connection, the main methods of treatment, depending on the size of the stones, are either lithokinetic therapy or surgical treatment.

Introduction. Urolithiasis is a widespread disease. The percentage of phosphate stones reaches up to 35% of all cases of all kidney stones. Patients with phosphate stones and with various urinary catheters in particular are a complex category of patients requiring the close attention of doctors. Phosphate urolithiasis clinical patterns create a constant search for various oral therapy options.

Introduction. The study of lithogenic substances excretion in stone formers with pure monomineral stones allows us to identify characteristic metabolic changes, the long-term effect of which determines the originality of the pathogenetic mechanism features of the formation of urinary stones consisting of pure minerals.

Introduction. Urolithiasis is a serious medical, social and economic problem. Over the past decades the world has seen a progressive, approximately 3% per year, increase in its incidence. Urolithiasis occupies a leading position in the structure of urological diseases and has a high recurrence rate in the absence of metaphylaxis. In turn, the effectiveness of properly selected anti-relapse therapy has been proven by many studies and is about 50- 80%.

Introduction. We will try to show the place of acid-base balance (ABB) study in urolithiasis patients. There is the second article in a series of works devoted to the study of ABB in urolithiasis patients. This work is devoted to the study of the level of basic acid base indicators: blood pH, pCO2, pO2, BE.

Introduction. While providing urological care to patients suffering with nephrolithiasis, prior attention is to be paid to choosing the appropriate surgical approach. Assessment of risk for commorbidities such as coronary artery disease (CAD) should affect the choice of surgical technique. The treatment tactics for such comorbid patients have not been sufficiently developed and are poorly covered in the scientific literature. An appropriate choice of surgical technique is not presented.
