Introduction. Prevention of reproductive disorders implies monitoring of the reproductive health of the population, especially in the regions with high level of anthropogenic pollution of the environment. Male fertility (the ability to conceive) is mainly determined by the quality of sperm cells, so that sperm studies is a prominent stage in clinical andrology, reproductive toxicology and epidemiology. The aim of this study was to evaluate the reproductive capacity and its hormonal correlates in a group of young males from Kemerovo.

Prostatitis and varicocele are the most frequent diseases of urological system, which have a potential to decrease male fertility. The influence of varicocele and prostatitis on the spermogram parameters is still understudied. Especially important is this problem in men of active reproductive age, which tend nowadays to postpone the childbirth. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of varicocele and prostatitis on the reproductive function in young men (mean age 24.5±6.1 years) living in Novosibirsk.

The paper provides andrological examination data of adolescents and young men who permanently resides in the Kemerovo. There was found a high rate of diseases which can impair a reproductive health in students of specialized secondary schools and colleges. An early sexual debut among adolescents was detected by means of a questionnaire survey. Mean age of sexual debut of 73.8% of secondary school students was 14.8 years and average number of sexual partners at age of 17 reached 7.5!
