At present time the issue of early detection of prostate cancer (CaP) becomes more and more actual. CaP has a very high morbidity and mortality rate increase temp, which is connected with disease late detection and as a result big quantity of patients with advanced and disseminated forms of cancer.

PSA test made a revolution in regard of increase of CaP detection on early curable stages.

However at present time there are convincing proofs of insufficient diagnostic value of PSA marker

Chemoprevention is the effect aimed at postponing the development of cancer or extension of time to progression. This can be achieved through the use of means slowing down the progression, causing inhibition or reversion of carcinogenesis processes to reduce the risk of developing invasive or clinically significant cancer.

The authors performed a review of data published on the results of clinical studies of chemoprevention.

At present time the challenge of prostate cancer early detection becomes more and more vital due to prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common malignant tumors in males. Development and clinical introduction of programs of prostate cancer early detection is not only about a medical concern but about social and economic meaning for government. After introduction 20 years ago PSA test gave a start to early prostate cancer detection era, increased rate of localized curable cancer detection.

Currently, there is increasing incidence of prostate cancer and the percentage of detection of the disease in the early stages of the disease, which allows us to apply the radical methods of treatment. But there is a certain percentage of local recurrence of the disease after radical treatment that requires salvage therapy for prostate cancer. Objective: To determine local recurrence after radical treatment of prostate cancer, to identify diagnostic algorithm of local recurrence, to choose options of local recurrence of prostate cancer (PCa) management.

Most frequent prostate cancer radiation therapy complications are radiation, prostatitis cystitis and proctitis, with dysuria of different degree of manifestating. It can be also complicated by infravesical obstruction. α1-Blockers are used for nonsurgical treatment of dysuria and infravesical obstruction. The purpose of our clinical research was to evaluate efficiency of neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy with α1-blockers in patients with prostate cancer underwent extracorporal radiation treatment or brachytherapy.

Trial for clinical effi cacy and safety of Selzinc Plus (Pro.Med.CS Praha), comprising selenium, zinc, vitamins A, E and C in patients with chronic non-infectious prostatitis grade IIIA with fertility disorder was performed at the Research Institute of Urology. Th e drug eff ect on time course of patient spermogram parameters was examined. Also selenium concentration measurement in main and control groups was carried out.

An open comparative study was performed at the Research Institute of Urology to examine sensibility and safety of technetium-labeled zoledronic acid drug Rezoscan,99mTc in patients with prostate cancer in case of skeletal lesions detected by bone scanning. Frequency of coincidence and discrepancy in bone scanning results when utilizing Rezoscan, 99mTc or Technifor, 99mTc was evaluated. Novel drug safety was assessed by virtue of analysis of undesirable events and side eff ects frequency.
