The aim of the study was validation of the Russian version of the Wisconsin quality of life questionnaire (WISQOL) in patients with urolithiasis.

Material and methods: the language adaptation of the original WISQOL included standard stages: translation,reverse translation, pilot study. Of 108 patients who underwent treatment for urolithiasis, filled Russian version of the questionnaires WISQOL and SF-36. Respondents completed questionnaires before and 1 month after treatment. Analyzed psychometric properties of WISQOL.

The article provides an overview of the current literature on the subject of the most common dishormonal status of men over 40 years old age-related androgen deficiency. Introduction. One of the most common multifactorial disease states, which is caused by certain systemic diseases, as well as the reception of drugs and psycho-emotional status of the person is insomnia.

Urethral stricture disease is a widespread disease, significantly influencing the quality in life in affected patients. Rehabilitation of the patients with this pathology is linked with substantial costs for healthcare providers. In the last years the terminology of this disease anf the therapeutic approaches were significantly reviewed. The preoperative diagnostical steps, surgical experience and adequate operative planning are crucial for the success of the intervention. In the last two decades endourethral modalities are skeptically regarded.

The investigations of the last years have revealed a connection between the urolithiasis (UL) and metabolic syndrome (MS), which represents a complex of interconnected metabolic and cardiovascular risk factors.

Infectious complications represent a serious problem linked to HIFUtherapy, which can slow down the rehabilitation after procedure and lengthen the hospitalization time. Infectious complications stay with approximately 12.5% of all complications and are in general restricted to epididymitis, pyelonephritis and cystitis. The aim of our study was to find out the factors predisposing to the infectious complications. Our study included 98 patients, which underwent HIFU-therapy. In all cases transurethral resection was done before the procedure.

The article provides an overview of current literature on the most frequent dysuric pathology - nocturia. This disorder significantly reduces the quality of life for men and women. Current pharmacological and surgical treatments were not always pronounced clinical effect against number of nighttime urination in patients of older age groups. Until recently, it was considered that cause of nocturia is an organic or functional disorders of the urinary system, however, in reality this is not always the case.

Urolithiasis is a widespread urological disease. With the implementation of the minimal invasive technologies for the stone disintegration the efficacy of the treatment was substantially improved, though, all of these methods could not be used for the treatment of urolithiasis itself and no guarantee could be given regarding the recurrence. There fore, the questions of the recurrence prophylactics are today of the main value in the treatment of the nephrolithiasis.
