The problem of the surgical treatment in female patients with pelvic organ prolapse and stress incontinence of the middle and elderly age group is very actual, given wide prevalence of the disease and the absence of the effective conservative treatment. This review is devoted to the actual state of prosthetic pelvic floor reconstruction. Uncomplicated stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a place for active recommendations to implant the full-size midurethral slings, given the suboptimal efficacy of mini-slings.

Introduction. Transobturator approach to the sling placement for female incontinence is linked to some risks: vaginal wall perforation, damage of the adductor muscles of the thigh and obturator nerves, which could lead to the development of chronic pelvic pain syndrome. New surgical device TVT-Abbrevo, shortened version of TVT-O, could minimize the tissue traumatization. Aim of the study was to compare treatment outcomes with regard to urinary continence for two surgical devices – TVT-O and TVT-Abbrevo.

This article is devoted to the grounds of the development of the diabetes mellitus complications with regard to the lower urinary tract, namely to diabetic cystopathy. Symptoms and clinical signs of the diabetic cystopathy are presented in the wide spectrum from the frequency disorders to urinary incontinence and urinary retention. The diversity of the diabetes related micturition disturbances is mirroring the heterogeneity of the pathogenetic factors. The main factor is considered to be the diabetic angiopathy.

This article presents an overview of current literature on the results of surgical treatment of pelvic organ prolapse in combination with occult stress urinary incontinence. Topical issue is clinical significance of preoperative determination of occult incontinence, choice of the method of diagnosis (reduction of pelvic organ prolapse, urodynamics) and the significance of preventive anti-stress operation during surgical correction of pelvic organ prolapse for prevention the occurrence of stress incontinence de novo.

Introduction: In a relatively short period of time mini-slings were able to take a place among the methods of surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence.

Purpose: This study focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the most commonly used in our practice, mini-sling Ophira.

Materials and Methods: February 2010 to July 2012 68 patients who had undergone this surgery were included in the study.

During the last few years the role of the brain centers in the regulation and control of the intensively discussed. It was shown, that cortical center in charge of the micturition control is paracentral lobule on the medial surface of the hemisphere. During the excitation of the supracalleous part of the brain, it’s cingulate and orbital inhibitory effect on the bladder is evident. The influence of the anterior cingulate region on the micturition activation was also evident.

Male urinary incontinence is a serious complication of the pelvic surgery. A modern approach is a male sling placement for continence restoration. Our study included 39 patients, which were operated in years 2009-2011 in the Scientific Institute of Urology due to urinary incontinence. Mean age of the patients was 64 years (range 51-81).

In a review from the gender point of view modern epidemiological features and pathophysiological mechanisms night urination (nocturia), based on results of modern researches in the field and own clinical data are considered. Results of epidemiological researches show that nocturia is the universal age phenomenon deprived of gender colouring, and not just a symptom, characteristic for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The article provides an overview of current literature on the most frequent dysuric pathology - nocturia. This disorder significantly reduces the quality of life for men and women. Current pharmacological and surgical treatments were not always pronounced clinical effect against number of nighttime urination in patients of older age groups. Until recently, it was considered that cause of nocturia is an organic or functional disorders of the urinary system, however, in reality this is not always the case.

Due to new technological achievements and clinical studies treatment of male stress incontinence (SI) constantly improves. Nevertheless optimal level of safety and efficacy is still not gained. Search for the alternative option for artificial sphincter, which is used for 40 years, is not finished. Attempts to develop a device both safe and efficient for patients with different grades of SI, low possible complication rates and possibility to adjust tension rate according to individual particularities are still continued.
