The personalized approach to the treatment of patients with urolithiasis

1998

Introduction. The variety of etiopathogenesis of urolithiasis and the presence of various concomitant pathologies in patients with urinary tract stones requires an individual approach to their treatment.

Materials and methods. A retrospective analysis of the treatment results was performed in 208 patients, 124 (59,6%) men and 84 (40,4%) women, aged 19 to 84 years (average age – 53,5±14,6 years), who were operated for nephrolithiasis. Demographic data, comorbid background of patients, therapeutic tactics and treatment results are analyzed.

1675

Introduction. Asymptomatic bacteriuria (AB) is a form of urinary tract infection (UTI) that occurs without any symptoms. Its incidence fluctuates around 6%. The generally accepted paradigm suggests the need to treat AB, but this statement is mainly based on research data from the 1950-70 years.

Mirabegron: useful side effects and new promising areas of application

3063

Introduction. Mirabegron is a β3-adrenergic receptor agonist (β3-AR) that is registered and widely used for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB). Initially, the drug was studied for the treatment of metabolic syndrome, but then showed the ability to influence the symptoms of urgent frequent urination. As a result, it was registered for the indication «OAB». However, the effect of mirabegron on fat metabolism and other metabolic effects should also be taken into account.

A new method of treating cystourethroanastomosis stenosis after radical prostatectomy with buccal flap fixation by the nitinol stent (nearest results)

2010

Introduction. Stenosis of cystourethroanastomosis is not common but a serious and social significant complication after radical prostatectomy. The present methods of treatment don’t lead to persistent cure. Currently there is a paucity of effective methods for the treatment of this complication and we necessitate to find out a new option to restore urination and preserve continence at the same time.

The effect of testosterone replacement therapy on lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men

2589

Introduction. Currently, there is a point of view that lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and age-related testosterone deficiency (hypogonadism) in men should be considered as pathogenetically interrelated, age-associated chronic diseases characterized by a progressive course. These conditions can significantly reduce the quality and duration of life in men in the absence of adequate drug correction.
