EXPERIMENTAL UROLOGY

The goal of this work was to reveal the participation of toxic decomposition products of tissues and induced cytotoxic mechanism of prostate lesion in the experiment. Pathological process in the prostate was formed on the model of HP in male albino rats. An experimental part was held on 78 adult male rats, 16 of which where control group (intact). HP were initiated by castration of male rats with simultaneous introduction of testosterone in a dose of 0,1 mg/kg subcutaneously once a day for 21 days.

Effect of a coniferous provitamin concentrate (CPC) on the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in comparison with extract of Serenoa repens fruits was studied. BPH was induced by daily intraperitoneal administrations of sulpiride at a doze of 40 mg/kg of body weight for 40 days in male Wistar rats. CPC or extract of Serenoa repens at dozes of 400 and 200 mg/kg of body weight, accordingly, were given to rats by intragastric tube simultaneously with the administration of sulpiride.

The inhibitors of the phosphodiesterase type 5 (iPDE-5) are today the first line agents for the therapy of the erectile dysfunction (ED). The data regarding their effect on the male fertility is controversial.

Vaginal surgery for pelvic organ prolapse using mesh polypropylene implants (Prolift, Johnson&Johnson, USA; AMS Elevate, USA) is pathogenetic treatment of fascial reconstruction in patients with connective tissue defects. One of the shortcomings of these commercial sets is rather high cost.

In this study we have investigated the influence of sodium hypochlorite (SH) on the blood leukocytes in rats (experimental part) and the possible applications of SH in patients with acute pyelonephritis. Experimental part was performed on 35 white inbreed male rats. Clinical part included 2 groups of patients from urological clinic.

Two new modifications of a combined two-phasic model of the prostate carcinogenesis are developed. Experiments were carried out in 86 Wistar male rats.

The experiments were made using 20 mature male rats (line “August”) with a mass of 280-320 g. In 10 rats metabolic changes typical for metabolic syndrome (MS) were induced using high-calorie diet (adding of 20% margarine to standard diet and 20% of fructose to the water during 3 months), bilateral orchiectomy (to create androgen deficiency) and stress (immobilization stress during 1 day in the end of the observation period).

In chronic experiments with 30 male white inbreed rats we have investigated the influence of high-calorie diet (addition of 20% margarine to the formula feed and 20% fructose to the water), androgen deficiency (bilateral orchiectomy) and stress (due to immobilisation) and their combination on the biochemical markers of kidneys and liver function.

The paper is dedicated to the mechanism of adaptogenic effect of sodium hypochlorite (SH). The studies were performed in three groups of 45 albino male rats. Group of intact animals were 5 rats. The rats in the control group (n = 20) were daily intraperitoneally (i / p) administered for 1.5 ml of saline for 4 days. The rats in the experimental group (n = 20) were similarly injected with 1.5 ml 0.06% solution of SH. The results in the group of intact rats were considered the normal values.

Experiments were carried out on 30 female albino rats. 10 intact rats served as controls, in 20 rats acute urinary retention (AUR) by placing a microvascular clamp on proximal urethra for 4 hours was caused. In rats with AUR blood supply of the bladder was deteriorated, as in urinary retention, and a day after its recovery, which was established by spectral analysis of the impedance.
