Analysis of the relationship between urolithiasis and tumor diseases

6241

Modern possibilities of surgery, remote lithotripsy and drug therapy can effectively save the patient from the stone. However, none of the above methods of treatment of urolithiasis solves the problem of carcinogenesis in stone formation, which requires further research in this direction. The supersaturation of concentrated carcinogens with urinary stones can play a crucial role in carcinogenesis. Moreover, chronic obstruction, inflammation or infection caused by urinary stones can promote tumor growth.

The influence of microbial factors on the stability of the colloidal properties of urine in urolithiasis

5834

When using the method of gas chromatography-mass-spectrometry of urine microbiota and urinary stones presented obligate, facultative and transient microorganisms. The total bacterial load of patients with urolithiasis, especially with systemic forms of the disease, is much higher than in representatives of the control group.

Phytotherapy for patients with residual upper urinary tract stones after lithotripsy

13772

Introduction. Urolithiasis is one of the most common diseases, being of highest prevalence among all urological conditions. Patients with urolithiasis constitute up to 30–40% of all inpatient cases in urology. Traditionally, phytotherapeutic preparations are considered to have an important role in different settings of treatment for urolithiasis.

Aim of this prospective study was to evaluate clinical efficacy and safety of plant extract composition for treatment of patients with residual kidney and ureteral stones after lithotripsy.

Terpenes and their application in clinical practice

67765

This article describes the role of the terpens in the treatment and metaphylaxis of urolithiasis. The terpens improve derivation of the urinary stone and protect the kidneys. The Renotinex® is new medical product. It includes six terpens and alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E). Vitamin E reduces blood a calcium level moderately. Thus Renotinex® can be recommended for long-term metaphylaxis phosphate, uric acid, and especially calcium-oxalate nephrolithiasis.

Study of the urolithiasis problem in the scientific research institute of Urology: history, present and prospects (Actual speech of the head of the urolithiasis department 21.12.2018)

8686

Urolithiasis is one of the most common urological diseases. Urolithiasisis a polyetetic disease (congenital and acquired nature)with complex physico-chemical processes occurring not only in the urinary system, but also in the whole body. Issues of etiology and pathogenesis of stone formation not fully explored despite clear success in the study of urolithiasis.

Urolithiasis and cardiovascular diseases: only a statistical link or a common pathogenetic mechanism?

9448

The pathogenesis of urolithiasis, as well as atherosclerosis, is not fully understood. According to hypothesis, the start point of lithogenesis or atherogenesis is endothelial wall damage. It is possible that free radical oxidation is part of the pathogenesis of both diseases. In addition, the results of a large number research works, assert that urolithiasis patients are more likely to get sick atherosclerosis.

Russian-language version of the Wisconsin questionnaire for assessing the quality of life in patients with urolithiasis (Wisconsin stone-QOL (WISQOL)): results of the pilotstudy

9529

The aim of the study was validation of the Russian version of the Wisconsin quality of life questionnaire (WISQOL) in patients with urolithiasis.

Material and methods: the language adaptation of the original WISQOL included standard stages: translation, reverse translation, pilot study. Of 108 patients who underwent treatment for urolithiasis, filled Russian version of the questionnaires WISQOL and SF-36. Respondents completed questionnaires before and 1 month after treatment. Analyzed psychometric properties of WISQOL.

Efficiency of citrate drug «Blemaren» in urate nephrolithiasis

18905

Urolithiasis has high medical and social significance, which is accounted by its high incidence, which is up to 10% worldwide and is continuously growing in many countries. Recently, the increase in the incidence of uric acid nephrolithiasis has been recorded, which is connected to the change in eating habits and lifestyle. The aim of out study was to investigate the effectiveness of the descending litholysis using citrate mixtures and to study the dynamics of the density of uric acid and mixed concrements.

Metabolic risk factors and formation of urinary stones. Study III: Effect of urine pH

142860

Introduction. Acidity of urine is an important factor that can have a modulating effect on the formation of kidney stones. The formation of certain types of urinary stones (oxalate, phosphate, urate, cystine) is largely dependent on the urinary pH. However, the acidity of urine is not the only factor determining the ability urine to stone formation. The lithogenic potential of urine is the result of the interaction of various factors, both metabolic and physicochemical ones, including urine pH.

A normographic method for calculating urinary ion activity in patients with calcium oxalate urolithiasis

8514

Aim.In clinical practice urolithiasisis usually confirmed byX-ray techniques or by an indication ofstone discharge. However, this approach does not allow to detect the stages preceding concrement formation. In order to evaluate the morbidity risk and the effectiveness of treatment, it is necessary to estimate the activity ofstone formation. A large number of diagnostic tests and coefficientsfor calculating urinary ion activity index (UIAI)were proposed, which comprise the relationship between promotors and inhibitors ofstone formation. The АP[CaOx] index proposed by H.G.
